River Region Chaplain Service
An Interdenominational Public Safety Ministry
|
Chaplain's Role Interdenominational Public Safety Chaplains are not officials of public safety, but representatives of God, endorsed by their respective denominations. The chaplains assist all public safety personnel, administrative employees, and family members, upon request, on matters within the chaplain’s responsibility. Chaplains minister to department personnel and civilians in need at locations and scenes where pastoral services are indicated. Chaplaincy support shows respect both for cultural and spiritual diversity. The chaplain serves as an advisor and is available to minister until the family’s own clerical leader can arrive, or to provide pastoral care when the employee has no place of worship. Communications between department personnel and the chaplain are strictly confidential and will not be released to other department members or persons. |
