Team Building

Every effective leader devotes significant time to building a strong leadership team. Those include both staff and lay leadership teams.

Staff Retreats: Staff retreats that focus on teambuilding or at least have a teambuilding component can be most helpful. These retreats may vary in length from a few hours to two or three days.

The MBA staff has training and experience in leading both church staff and lay retreats that focus on building a stronger leadership team. Some of the resources on which they can draw to lead a productive retreat are:

Success Style Profile (SSP) is an instrument designed to measure the way a person has trained his/her brain to solve problems, make decisions, and relate to others. Understanding the style and preferences of fellow team members and learning how to build on each others strengths while complementing and/or compensating for weaknesses are essential to more effective teams.

Situational Self Leadership is an instrument developed by Ken Blanchard to assist leaders using appropriate management styles to help fellow team members become peak performers.

Learning to Communicate Better is a workshop developed by John Savage that is based on learning better listening skills. The workshop that has helped thousands of leaders and churches become better teams because they became better listeners.

Other topics and sessions can be customized to meet the unique teambuilding needs of each church leader.
